The Blind Pig Restaurant Review:
It’s an interesting idea, marrying a mini-gastropub with a cozy neighborhood bar and a meat shop. Owner Robert Molinari has partnered with the classic Hobe Meats, the result of which is a full butcher counter stocked with proteins ranging from beef to wild game. You can take the meat to go or enjoy it onsite, indulging in dishes like the signature “pig wings” of grilled petite pork shanks in spicy-sweet chipotle glaze. Overall, though, the theme is creative Mexican, bringing delights like a cheese quesadilla stuffed with shiitake, oyster and portobello mushrooms spiced with jalapeño and tomato, or a “deconstructed” shrimp-and-corn tamale with the grilled shrimp set atop a slab of masa and moistened in corn-cilantro cream sauce. Then, there’s the bar section, where regulars like to linger while sipping margaritas and beer. The drinks are well-crafted --- some guests may choose another cocktail rather than dessert, actually. But sweet tooth types will be happy with the Key lime pie that tastes rather like a margarita.
