The Blue Door Restaurant Review:
With Greek owners Pete and Sylvia Foundas (also owners of San Francisco's Pinecrest Diner), you can’t go wrong with The Blue Door's spanakopita --- layers of caramelized leeks, spinach and dill, with a high feta-to-phyllo ratio. Also on the Greek side are lamb sliders and Greek fries laced with oregano and feta, as well as lamb chops with creamed spinach. Chef Charlie Armenta brings a touch of San Francisco to dishes such as Teres Major Saratoga steak with Cabernet demi glaze. Try the roasted chicken salad po’ boy, crisped up with a new take on Waldorf slaw, or the portobello mushroom burger slathered with baba ghanouj and smoked Gouda. Blue Door Mac with white cheddar, Parmesan, mushrooms, spinach and chicken is pure indulgence. Plentiful fresh salads (kale and quinoa with golden raisins is a star), share plates and desserts, all done with generosity in mind, assure that nobody leaves hungry. All breads are baked fresh daily.
