Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails Restaurant Review:

A "contemporary gastro-lounge" (as the hotel has branded the restaurant) may sound a bit precious, or like a place full of young hipsters, but the uninspired space itself actually screams “hotel,” except for the sleek bar. Still, this is a chef-driven establishment, and chef Stephen Jones takes his work seriously, incorporating plenty of local ingredients and ample interpretations to his classic comfort food. Most dishes are offered in “small” and “large” portions, and items like Kentucky fried quail atop foie gras cornbread paired with red beans and sausage gravy, or the playful baby zucchini corndogs dunked in Green Goddess dressing, shine. You can’t predict what Jones will create --- perhaps flatbread topped with duck confit, Gruyère, roasted onions, arugula and pickled kumquats, or maybe a 16-day dry-aged rib-eye partnered with heirloom tomato panzanella salad. Drinks, meanwhile, salute the classics, including a lovely Sazerac, or choose a bottle from the list of international wines.
