Bongos Cuban Cafe Restaurant Review:
Emilio and Gloria Estefan opened Bongos after success with Larios in south Miami Beach. The Orlando outpost is a beautiful design, a two-story pineapple-shaped adobe structure; inside a dazzling mosaic of hand-painted murals evoke Old World Cuba of the 1940s and '50s. Sadly, the food does not match the fabulous décor. The extensive menu offers dishes ranging from arroz con pollo and ropa vieja to Cuban sandwiches and sautéed fish in Creole sauce. If you're out for an evening at Disney Springs, we recommend a stop in the lively downstairs bar, where they make some of the best mojitos in town. Nosh on side orders of appetizers like Cuban tamales and ham croquettes.
