Boodles Restaurant Review:
The motto of this eclectic place at 11 Mile Road and I-75 is “Where East Meets West,” signifying Boodles is convenient to both Detroit’s East and West sides. Sandwiches, pastas (referred to as Boodles' Oodles of Noodles), pizza, steak, shrimp, sea scallops, burgers and the daily specials are all recommended. The Michigan Salad combines fresh baby field greens, blue cheese, egg, sunflower seeds, apples, Roma tomatoes, green onions and smoked bacon, topped with your choice of dressing. Seafood strudel with shrimp, scallops and lobster is wrapped in phyllo and finished with two shrimp and a sherry-lobster cream sauce. Several dishes are prepared tableside with dramatic flair, including steak Diane and such desserts as crêpes Suzette and bananas Foster. There's a lengthy wine list with old- and new-world reds, whites, sparkling selections and Champagne plus ports and sherries. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday a piano player draws applause from bar patrons and diners.
