THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bramble Restaurant Review:

Bramble marks chef Randy Rucker’s return to Houston. The restaurant’s atmosphere is rustic and comfortable, while the daily changing menu relies on ingredients sourced from local producers and displays Rucker’s love of Third Coast cuisine with modern touches. Small and large plates served family-style might include house-cured charcuterie, huge braised lamb necks, Gulf Coast seafood and fresh vegetables plucked from the chef’s garden on the patio, which also offers limited seating. The interior has casual accoutrements, too, although it’s a small space so try dining at off-peak times, unless you sit at the long bar that runs down one side. The open kitchen offers a view of the magic in the making. Rucker’s food is still perfectly plated, although not as avant-garde as in his early days. You might find wood-grilled duck wings with a kumquat glaze or a foie gras biscuit on the menu and, if you’re lucky, the roasted Gulf oysters and hearty shrimp and grits with a Creole sauce. Curated cocktails and large slices of house-made cake round out a meal.
