Available at only two establishments in the country. This strong lager is brewed strictly for lent and traditionally permitted by the Pope as a Lenten "food." This dark reddish-brown delicacy has a delicious caramel-sweetness which is nicely balanced with roasted malts and a wonderful lingering finish of molasses. Overall a very rare and delicious Doppelbock!

Kloster Andechs Doppelbock, Doppelbock, 7.1% ABV

Kloster Andechs Spezial Hell, Dortmunder/Helles, 5.9% ABV

"Schlenkerla Helles" is brewed with fine Bavarian aroma hops from the area around the city of Nürnberg. It's lagered in century old caves underneath the historic Schlenkerla brewery and maltings. Schlenkerla Helles is boiled in the same copper kettles and bottom fermented by the same yeast as the historic Schlenkerla Smokebeer. Its subtle smokiness without using smoke malt makes "Helles Schlenkerla Lager" a unique representative of the classic lager beer style "Bavarian Helles". Editor's note: Since this is not intended as a smoked beer, and is not billed as such, it has been classed here as a Helles, despite some samples having residual smoke character.

Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Eiche Doppelbock, Smoked/Rauchbier, 8.0% ABV

While for the classic "Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier" traditionally beech has been - and still is - used, the malt for "Schlenkerla Oak Smoke" is kilned with Oak wood. The resulting Schlenkerla Oak Smoke Malt has a smoother and more multi layered smoky note than the intensely aromatic Beech Smoke Malt. The hence complex smokiness in the "Schlenkerla Oak Smoke" is paired with the multifaceted bitterness of finest Hallertau aroma hops.

Früh Kölsch, Kolsch, 4.8% ABV

Paulaner Salvator, Doppelbock, 7.5% ABV

The Paulaner Salvator with its strong,typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. The bottom-fermented Doppelbock-Bier unites the finest hops and dark barley malt. The Paulaner monks served Salvator as a replacement for food at Lent. Their most famous brewer was Brother Barnabas, who was the head of the Paulaner monastery brewery starting from 1773. Its original recipe is today almost the same as it was in Barnabas' time. In order to protect the original recipe, Paulaner had the trade mark "Salvator" patented in 1896.

Schneider Aventinus, Weizen Bock, 8.2% ABV

Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Warsteiner Premium Dunkel, Dunkel, 4.9% ABV

This exceptionally smooth dark lager has a deep chestnut brown hue, toasty malt and mocha aromas, with a medium-bodied palate and subtle hop bitterness on the finish.

Warsteiner Premium Pilsner, Dunkel, 4.8% ABV

In accordance with the German Purity Law of 1516, Warsteiner Premium Pilsener is made from four key ingredients: brewing water, malt, hops and yeast. These raw materials are put through a gentle and unique brewing process, using the most advanced technology to create 'the champagne of beers'. Warsteiner Premium Pilsner pours to a golden colour with a fine foam head. It has a mild hop aroma and a slightly malty taste.

Weihenstephaner Kristallweissbier, German Kristallweizen, 5.4% ABV

In our golden-yellow crystal-clear wheat beer the fresh citrus flavour harmonises very well with spicy banana notes. The fine sparkling gives it a tangy and animated appearance. Wurzburger Festbier, Oktoberfest/Marzen, 5.9% ABV

Aecht Schlenkerla Eiche Doppelbock · 8.0% ABV

Following century old recipes all malts made at the Schlenkerla brewery are dried by wood fire. While for the classic Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier traditionally beech has been and still is used, the malt for Schlenkerla Oak Smoke is kilned with oak wood. The resulting Oak Smoke Malt has a smoother and more multi layered smoky note than the intensely aromatic Beech Smoke Malt. The hence complex smokiness in Schlenkerla Oak Smoke is paired with the multifaceted bitterness of finest Hallertau aroma hops. With 8% alcohol and Bernstein color it matures for months in the deep brewery cellars underneath Bamberg into a special treat for smoke beer lovers for Christmas.

Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Märzen, Smoked/Rauchbier, 5.1% ABV

Bamberg's speciality, a dark, bottom fermented smokebeer, brewed with Original Schlenkerla Smokemalt from the Schlenkerla maltings and tapped according to old tradition directly from the gravity-fed oakwood cask in the historical brewery tavern.

Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock, Smoked/Rauchbier, 6.5% ABV

Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock is unpasteurized. Fuller and richer in body than the Maerzen, it uses more malt and is matured at least one month longer (1,805 lbs. of smoked malt is swalled up in one batch [one batch= 340 cases].) It is only brewed once a year for the Urbock-celebration at the Schlenkerla tavern in Bamberg in early October.

Apostelbrau Dinkel Bock, Heller Bock, 6.8% ABV

Apostelbraeu Dinkel Bock is quite refreshing inspite of its 6.6 % alc/vol. It shows a distinct dry/fruity finish which comes completely unexpected from a "German brewery". The estery character of Rudi Hirz's "house yeast" and the unique Hallertauer Saphir/Austrian Opal hop combination [plus dry-hopped with Opal hop] harmonize very well. Its big body consisting of Pilsner malt, Rudi Hirz' own floor malted barley and Spelt provide the perfect malt sweet balance.

Apostel Brau First Bavarian Pale Ale, English Pale Ale, 5.1% ABV

The First Bavarian Pale Ale was created between the three friends Stefano Cossi (formerly Thornbridge Hall Brewery, UK), Matthias Mueller (they met at famous Brewing School Weihenstephan/Germany) and Rudi Hirz. Dry-hopped through the use of a special "Hop mill" as well as in our tank container during its journey from Apostelbraeu to Oxford C.T., USA Hops: Hallertaur Mittelfrueh, Styran Saviniski, Styrian Golding Malts: Bavarian Pale Ale Malt, Spelt Yeast: English Ale Yeast.

Apostelbrau Roggen, Specialty Grain, 5.2% ABV

Intense aromas of rye bread with a sophisticated, tart undercurrent from the rye malt. A deceptively simple and elegant beer hiding a disarming complexity.

Augustiner Edelstoff, Dortmunder/Helles, 5.6% ABV

Augustiner Maximator, Doppelbock, 7.5% ABV

Maximator is a huge beer, sticky in consistency, dark ruby in color with virtually no carbonation and a sweet malty nose.

Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel, Dunkel, 5.0% ABV

Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Ayinger Brau Weisse, German Hefeweizen, 5.1% ABV

Fragrance and taste of the "yeast-cloudy" wheat beer are distinguished by a refined top-fermented flowery-yeast character and an unmistakable, distinct banana aroma. First sensation on the taste buds is full-bodied, very soft and mild with a lively, champagne-like sparkle.

Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock, Doppelbock, 6.7% ABV

Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

Ayinger Jahrhundert, Dortmunder/Helles, 5.5% ABV

Jahrhundert Bier is bright and beautiful, the color of a desert at sunrise. The long lasting head is creamy and thick. The taste is pure malt, clean, fresh, and round, like a fine dry wine. The flavor is bread-like, fruity and earthy delicious, with an aftertaste that is clean and long lasting. It was first brewed for the 100 year anniversary of this upscale brewery south of Munich.

Ayinger Ur Weisse, Wheat Ale, 5.8% ABV

Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Chimay Cinq Cents (White), Tripel, 8.0% ABV

The Chimay Triple, last-born of the Abbey, is labelled "Cinq Cents" on the 750 ml bottle. Of a golden colour, the Trappist beer combines sweet and bitter in a rare balance. The beer's aroma felt in the mouth comes from the hops' perfumes: above all, they are fruity touches of Muscat grapes and raisins, even ripe apples. This traditional Belgian beer is best savoured fresh at a temperature of from 6 to 8°C.

Chimay Grand Reserve, Tripel, 9.0% ABV

This is a beer whose fragrance of fresh yeast with a light, flowery rosy touch is especially pleasant. Its flavour, noticed when tasting it, only accentuates the pleasant sensations perceived in the aroma , while revealing a light but pleasant touch of roasted malt. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Chimay Premiere (Red), Dubbel, 7.0% ABV

Chimay Red is noted for its coppery colour which makes it particularly attractive. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance. Its taste, which imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness. To the palate, the taster perceives a pleasant astringency which complements the flavour qualities of this beer very harmoniously. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Clausthaler Amber Non-Alcoholic, Low Alcohol, 0.45% ABV

A Non-Alcoholic beverage made the way beers have been made in Germany for centuries. Genuine, pure and natural. Claushaler is brewed according to the law that's as unique as the beverage. The reinheitsgebot, which says that only the purest ingredients must be used - water, yeast, malt and hops - nothing else. Clausthaler, pure and clean with German taste.

Clausthaler Premium Non-Alcoholic, Low Alcohol, 0.45% ABV

A well-balanced nonalcoholic lager. Fresh and easy to drink. Brewed with the finest barley malt and choicest hops using a unique, patented brewing method - which does not involve extracting the alcohol at the end of brewing. Freshness and a pleasingly intense hoppy note. Creamy on the palate with the sweetness balanced by a moderate bitterness. Brewed strictly in accordance with the German Beer Purity Law.

Delirium Tremens, Belgian Pale Ale, 8.5% ABV

Ettaler Curator, Doppelbock, 9.0% ABV

Brewed with 60 percent wheat, 40 percent barley - using top fermenting yeast, it is then slowly lagered and remains unfiltered throughout the finish.

Lammsbrau Organic Glutenfrei Lager, Specialty Grain, 4.7% ABV

The Lammsbräu presents the first Gluten-free, barley malt, of course, in the proven Lammsbräu organic quality. Previous gluten-free beer-like beverages were brewed from millet, rice, corn or buckwheat, representing neither the usual in Germany beer taste nor the purity law. Leipziger Gose, Gose, 4.6% ABV

This original Leipzig beer specialty lends us the name for our brewery. Gose is a regional beer specialty that was brought to Saxony-Anhalt in the year 1738. Originally Gose comes from Goslar, a small town in Lower Saxony, and the river "Gose" in this town. This beer specialty has a refreshing, slightly sour taste and is ideal for quenching your thirst. Gose is brewed with the additional ingredients lactic acid, cilantro, and salt. Gose is a top-fermented beer with 4,6 Vol. % alcohol and 10,8 % wort. You can enjoy it in different variations.

Mahrs Ungespundet Lager, Zwickel/Keller/Landbier, 5.2% ABV

Mahr's Brau Ungespundet Hefetrub It pours with a big, creamy, long-lasting, head; has a golden-bronze color; a wonderfully fresh, perfumy; hop aroma; a remarkably smooth, almost oily, malty, palate; very fresh flavours; and a spritzy finish. It is beautifully balanced, but leans to the dry side. This is a delicious, appetising beer and a true taste of Germany's fast-vanishing artisanal tradition.

Monk's Cafe Flemish, Flanders Red Ale, 5.5% ABV

We blend young and old beers to make this mildy tart sour ale. Light bodied with a lactic/sour nose and a bit of sweet and sour in the finish.

Orval Trappist, Belgian Ale, 6.2% ABV

In contrast to all the others, the Orval Trappist brewery makes only one beer for the general public. It has an intensely aromatic and dry character. Between the first and second fermentations there is also an additional dry-hopping process. Through this the beer acquires its pronounced hoppy aroma and extra dry taste. Bottled at 5.2% abv can go up as high as 7.2%.

The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

Schneider Aventinus 2006, Weizen Bock, 8.2% ABV

Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Schneider Aventinus Weizen-Eisbock, Eisbock, 12.0% ABV

Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore. Up until the 1940's, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created. Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!

Schneider Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse, Weizen Bock, 8.2% ABV

This unique beer is the result of the long friendship of Schneider brewmaster Hans-Peter Drexler and Brooklyn brewmaster Garrett Oliver. The two brewmasters feel that Schneider & Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse represents the quality, tradition and terroir of the Bavarian Hallertauer hop region paired with the innovation and creative energy for which Brooklyn is famous.

Schneider Edelweiss, German Hefeweizen, 6.2% ABV

Exclusively brewed in reminiscence of Georg Schneiders privilege of being part of the world famous Munich Octoberfest until 1942 when his renowned "Weisse Brauhaus im Tal, Munich" was destroyed. Enjoy and celebrate!

St. Bernardus Abt 12, Quadrupel, 10.0% ABV

The absolute top quality in the hierarchy of the St. Bernardus beers. It is also the beer with the highest alcohol content. A dark ivory coloured beer with a high fermentation.

Stiegl Radler Grapefruit, Fruit Beer, 2.5% ABV

Stiegl Grapefruit Radler combines the purity of Stiegl Goldbräu lager with pure grapefruit juice. Radler, which means 'cyclist' in German, was originally brewed for thirsty cyclists in Austria who wanted a great tasting, low alcohol beer they could take along on bike rides. Stiegl Grapefruit Radler has a distinct tart flavor, citrusy aroma, lively effervescence and natural cloudiness.

Weihenstephaner Kristallweissbier, German Kristallweizen, 5.4% ABV

In our golden-yellow crystal-clear wheat beer the fresh citrus flavour harmonises very well with spicy banana notes. The fine sparkling gives it a tangy and animated appearance. Throughout summer and winter, it's a prickling experience. It goes well with fish, seafood, white meat or it can be enjoyed as an aperitif. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Weihenstephaner Vitus, Weizen Bock, 7.7% ABV

Our light-coloured, spicy single-bock, "Vitus" is saturated with fine yeast and a creamy foam. It is a specialty with a round character based on the extra long storage time. The fruity smell of dried apricots joins aromas of citrus, cloves and hints of banana. Full-bodied and sparkling with an effervescent mouthfeel. Thus, the Vitus does not taste like a typical Bock beer but more like a noble, fruity wheat beer. Perfect with red meat, strong cheese and also able to guide desserts. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Weissenohe Bonator, Doppelbock, 8.2% ABV

Legend has it that Doppel Bock was first made by monks as a hearty, full-bodied drink to be consumed in the tough fasting period. This 'Bonator' is brewed at the monastery at Weissenohe in the most traditional, painstaking way, using the best ingredients. It is named for Bonifatius, a missionary who came to the monastery long after brewing began in 1050 A.D. At Weissenohe the Reinheitsgebot (the famous Bavarian beer purity law) is still observed, and the beer is made by the traditional, and painstaking, double-decoction method, which is only rarely observed in Bavaria today. Urban Winkler's brewing methods have been handed down to him from earlier generations of brew-masters at Weissenohe, and refined in accordance with the teachings of older brew-masters in the area. Franconians, a famously stubborn and uncompromising people, still support almost 300 small breweries in their tiny corner of Bavaria, and have kept the old ways even as breweries in the rest of Bavaria modernize, stream-line, and forget. No one knows why all Doppel Bocks have names with the suffix '-ator'. That's just the way it is.

Weltenburger Hefeweizen Hell, German Hefeweizen, 5.4% ABV

Weyerbacher Double Simcoe IPA, Imperial/Double IPA, 9.0% ABV

Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the guantlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe® Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs).

Widmer Brothers Omission IPA, India Pale Ale (IPA), 6.7% ABV
