Bru Haus
With sausages, burgers, Bavarian pretzels and a long beer list, this is a true Cal-German brewpub.
Bru Haus Restaurant Review:
This Cal-German pub offers a wide variety of menu items, from a Caesar or beet salad for salad-picking Westsiders to traditional bockwurst and German potato salad for those looking for a taste of Deutschland. There are also giant Bavarian pretzels flown in from the Old Country and a respectable gastropub burger. But sorry, there’s no ketchup here --- just an alternative made from beets. Grilled cheese sandwiches can be dressed up with bacon, avocado or fried egg. Get an overflowing order of sweet potato tots alongside your sandwich, and finish with a simple bread pudding. In addition to specialty cocktails, Brü Haus offers a solid list of German, Belgian and American beers. The industrial-looking space features an open kitchen and flat-screen TVs for game day. Brunch is served weekends 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with specials like sweet apple bacon Belgian waffles, sourdough pulled-pork n’ eggs and a veggie scramble.
