Bryant-Lake Bowl Restaurant Review:
Along with Nye’s Polonaise and Minneapolis nightclub First Avenue, the Bryant-Lake Bowl forms the holy trinity of local cool. It’s amazing how they do it, packing a wine bar, restaurant, performance space and bowling alley into one gloriously hip experience. Enjoy a glass of wine or an imported tap while watching local theater in the teensy performance space, or snack on artisan cheeses and a baguette while waiting to take a crack at the ancient wooden lanes. For a light lunch or dinner, go for a salad like the smoked trout and roasted beet mixture. Or try the pan-seared salmon with honey-mustard glaze with herb mashed potatoes and green beans for more substantial fare. The perfect hangover cure can be found in the breakfast offerings, from the breakfast burritos and scrambles to house-made biscuits and gravy. Because of the smack of pins and the patrons’ tomfoolery, the Bowl can get loud and rowdy---making it less than an ideal spot for bringing the youngsters, which is just how the grown-ups like it.
