The food is passable at this Forrest Gump-inspired chain. The theme is dated, the film passé, but it's close to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and has a fun vibe that attracts families. If you must dine here with the rest of the tourist crowd, stick to the simpler dishes such as peel-and-eat shrimp or the shrimp and salsa cocktail mixed with cilantro, chiles and avocado. Bubba does more than shrimp: Dixie-style baby-back ribs arrive slathered in sauce, and "boat trash" (not a particularly appetizing title) catches mahi mahi, lobster and other fish together with a pile of fries.
