Buckeye Roadhouse Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: This sophisticated "roadhouse" feels more like a hunting lodge inside with huge windows looking out onto green wilderness, stuffed trophy animal heads, a vaulted ceiling and a massive stone fireplace.
Food & Drinks: California cuisine warms the bellies of locals and tourists with dishes the Buckeye has made into classics. House-smoked chicken wings or ribs are always winners, while steaks, chops and salmon grilled over wood fit the setting. Many ingredients are local, and certain menu items change seasonally. Indulge in chili-lime brick chicken; fresh petrale sole; rich, braised lamb shanks; and huge burgers served on house-made buns. Don’t miss Marin's most delicate onion rings or oysters Bingo, the Buckeye’s plush, indulgent one-upmanship on oysters Rockefeller. Leave room for dessert --- the mile-high coconut cream pie, tangy lemon pudding and s'mores pie are must-orders. The full bar is one of the best in the county and serves up traditional drinks such as Manhattans and Moscow Mules, as well as signature cocktails using top quality liquor and fresh-squeezed juices. The wine program includes a nice selection on tap and a good dose of California varietals.
