The Buena Vista Cafe Restaurant Review:
San Francisco's The Buena Vista Cafe is a saloon and eatery with hearty drinks and fare, open since 1916 and most famous for its boozy Irish coffee recipe developed in 1952. Its lively, roomy bar and dining scene at the corner of Hyde and Beach makes for a classic (though crowded) stop for any San Francisco visitor; the location is right on the cable car line, steps from the Hyde Street turnaround. The Buena Vista's famed Irish coffee goes down smooth, despite --- or maybe because of --- a heavy dose of Irish whiskey within the drink's rich, dark depths; above, a light froth of cream floats like fog on the coffee's surface. Breakfast, lunch and dinner fare is a notch above the usual tourist offerings.
