Burger & Beer Joint Restaurant Review:

Creative diners are encouraged to custom-build their own burgers: choose patty size (half-pound or one pound), patty type (Angus or Wagyu beef, turkey, chicken or ahi), and bun (brioche, onion roll, whole-wheat, sesame, ciabatta, lettuce wrap), then select from à la carte toppings, sauces and sides --- the latter including duck fat fries and dynamite onion rings. If you’d rather not play chef, signature burgers range from a half-pound turkey burger topped with Swiss cheese, grilled onions and sautéed portobellos to a half-pound Wagyu beef burger with a three-ounce slab of buttery pan-seared Hudson Valley foie gras and black truffle aïoli. Having fun yet? If not, there’s a ten-pound “Motherburger” the size of a throw pillow that's free if a single person finishes it within two hours; otherwise, it’s $125. To drink, there are 50 different bottled beers or high-octane alcoholic “adult shakes” featuring top-shelf liquor. Warmly festive décor --- 120-year-old Chicago brick walls, wood booths and copper ceilings --- make the Joint a real hangout.
