Burma Superstar Restaurant Review:
The line begins almost before the restaurant even opens. This small, unassumingly decorated restaurant knows how appealing it is since it is audaciously titled Burma Superstar. Burmese cuisine, as authentic as you can get it stateside, is served up to a mixed crowd including college students and older couples. The stand-out starter is the salad of pickled green tea leaves, tomatoes, cabbage, roasted nuts, garlic and lemon that arrives composed and is tossed at the table. Entrées are hearty and simple like braised pork curry served with potatoes, marinated with pickled mangos; or samusa-style dumplings swimming in a sea of curry. Local's tip: If wait times are too long, try wandering down Clement to casual offshoot B Star Bar, owned by Burma Superstar and with a very similar menu.
