Cafe Alfresco Restaurant Review:
Perhaps one of the most unusual features of this restaurant is its proximity to the Pinellas Trail, a paved walking-jogging-biking-skating path that stretches for miles through a good portion of the county. Athletic types can stop for a quick pick-me-up or for something more serious. The menu isn't as casual as the exterior might suggest. A popular appetizer is the pork pot stickers (five wok-seared skewers steamed and served with an Asian dipping sauce). Or opt for sandwiches at lunch and pasta selections called "pastabilities." The entrée of orange chicken stir-fry features marinated chicken with vegetables, fresh oranges and orange ginger, served with rice. We also like the shrimp and smoked sausage Creole (sautéed shrimp and smoked sausage served over yellow rice). Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday. A favorite is French Toast a la Ritz with clover honey and powdered sugar.
