Cafe des Abattoirs
An affordable steakhouse belonging to the Rostang family.
Cafe des Abattoirs Restaurant Review:
Near the Place du Marché Saint-Honoré, this steakhouse belongs to the Rostang family who owns many restaurants in Paris such as L’Absinthe and Dessirier. On the ground floor of the two-story establishment, the memory of chef Michel Rostang’s grandfather is even celebrated thanks to the glass sign of the original Café des Abattoirs hung to the wall. In this convivial setting, the menus offer good value for your money. For a starter, choose among plates of Ibérico ham and Bellota chorizo. Then treat yourself with the pumpkin velouté accompanied with grilled and garlic flavored bread. Lamb’s legs are cooked kebab-style, unfortunately not as grilled as expected, and sided by french fries. To conclude the meal, the melting chocolate cream is a sure bet, with a banana muffin. Several decent wines served by the glass.
