Café Italia's high ceilings, tall arches, ceiling fans and fountain are reminiscent of an Italian square. A menu highlight is veal Raffaello, veal slices sautéed in brandy cream sauce with mushrooms and asparagus. The 14-ounce veal chop, broiled in white wine, olive oil and rosemary, is a close second. Pastas are also popular, especially the tortellini stuffed with ground veal, sautéed in cream sauce with mushrooms and a touch of truffle oil. The other pasta favorite is linguine with clams, mussels, scallops and shrimp in a garlic, olive oil and white wine sauce. There are also a few fresh fish specials nightly, often a Dover sole filleted tableside. For dessert, be sure to ask for another tableside-prepared favorite---bananas Foster.
