Cafe Maspero Restaurant Review:
In the French Quarter, Café Maspero is synonymous with big, overstuffed sandwiches. They are not the best sandwiches in town, but while shopping on busy Decatur Street, they are sometimes a welcome respite from never-ending lines of tourists. Your hunger will be satisfied, even if your tastebuds may go wanting. Here you’ll find pastrami and corned beef, grilled chicken, smoked sausage and turkey sandwiches all piled high between locally-baked Leidenheimer French buns or po’ boy bread and accompanied with french fries. Wheat and rye breads, and seeded soft buns are also available. Desserts are limited to bread pudding and “beignet fries” with powdered sugar. Be prepared for long waits for a table, and then for service.
