Matisse 167 Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Everything in this restaurant is influenced by the bold artwork of the master painter Matisse, from the décor to the dining. The jewel box space is bathed in red, purple and gold and punctuated with impressionist-style paintings and colorful chandeliers. Dining in spring, summer and early fall is especially nice when the lovely little garden can be viewed through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Food & Drinks: Chef Greg Power has taken over from longtime chef-owner Peter Loria. The seasonal four-course prix-fixe is the only menu. Guests might encounter such dishes as crispy pan-seared panko crusted crabcake and chipotle cheddar glazed shrimp; pan roasted Muscovy duck breast and ramen sun noodle; and orange vanilla cheesecake.
