Cafe Pastis Restaurant Review:
Café Pastis sports burnt ochre walls with colorful French posters. The owners are from Marseilles, so it makes sense that the saffron-scented seafood bouillabaisse would excel. They also pour plenty of the namesake Pastis, the 90-proof anise-flavored apéritif of Provence. Start with homemade pâté or melted goat cheese and honey on crisp olive oil bread. Entrées include duck braised in cassis paired with fig sauce, and sea scallops in Chardonnay butter sauce with baby artichokes. End the meal with the homemade tarte Tatin.
