THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Whether your tastes tend toward combination platters of tacos and tamales or something with more flair, like pollo Durango in a Mexican sour cream sauce with tomatillos and mushrooms, Café Sabor pleases on all levels. The food is fresh, the chips crispy and flavorful and the homemade salsa tangy. Starters include the chino Latino egg rolls with chicken, black beans and a creamy spinach sauce wrapped inside a flaky wonton skin or the coconut soup floating tender chicken strips, mushrooms and green onions. With a warm and inviting space that's brightly lit and decorated, the café resembles an Americanized cantina. Request a seat upstairs by the fire and admire the stained concrete staircase as you stroll above. The margaritas and other alcoholic concoctions lack the punch of a true Mexican restaurant but this is Utah; it’s expected. The portions, including desserts, tend to be large, so if you plan to indulge in the fried ice cream with its crisp shell drizzled in fudge, order accordingly.
