THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cafe Toscana Restaurant Review:
East Memphis may be a far cry from Italy, but it’s hard to tell when dining at Café Toscana, an authentic Italian restaurant run by Florence-born chef Giacomo Ciabattini. Start your meal by sharing a platter of scottiglia (a mixture of grilled, marinated vegetables and pine nuts served over crostini), and opt for the hearty filetto al Gorgonzola (grilled beef tenderloin with gnocchi and spinach chiffonade topped with Gorgonzola cream sauce) as a main course. Diners need not worry about saving too much room for dessert since Café Toscana offers small tasting portions of sweets (called “shooters”). Most wines are reasonably priced, so don’t hesitate to order that second glass.
