THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cake Thai Restaurant Review:
If you've been to the original Cake Thai outpost and preferred to complement your food with wine, then you brought your own bottle (it's BYOB and no alcohol is sold), and you also prepared to sweat (there is no AC). But at Cake Thai 2.0 in Wynwood, saké, wine and beer are on the menu and the heat comes from Phuket Thongsodchareondee’s authentic Thai cuisine. A Makoto alum, chef "Cake" cooks up some seriously tasty food, such as Japanese eggplant with long beans and basil doused in miso chili; brisket jerky with house-made Sriracha and pickles; and tom kha gai and pad thai. Look for large format dishes, too, like a catch of the day and 32-oz. local bone-in rib-eye exuding Thai whiskey.
