THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cedar Garden Restaurant Review:
In the midst of Royal Oaks restaurant row is this near-relative of the La Shish restaurants whose proprietors are the sister and brother-in-law of La Shish founder Talal Chahine. The room is done up with pierced brass lamps with multicolored beaded shades handcrafted in a village in Lebanon, and it is small and cozy with booths along the walls and tables in the center. A big juicer churns out fresh fruit and vegetable drinks as accompaniments to the fresh herb-dusted salads, the crushed lentil soup (just one of a number of treatments of the legume), marinated and charbroiled chicken and lamb dishes from shish kebob to chops to chili. The sampler plate for two brings enough hummus, baba ghanouj, tabbouleh, falafel, stuffed grape leaves and more to feed at least four. There is also a vegetarian combo.
