Charley's Crab Restaurant Review:
Past the enormous tanks of live lobsters at the entrance lies a clubby, cozy dining room. The distinguished lunch crowd congregates over Bloody Marys and single malts, while snowbird families and genteel couples hold court in the evening. Members of the sharp-witted and personable staff are a joy. You'll feel like a regular regardless of how often you dine here. Start with smoked salmon napoleon and move on to Dover sole with lemon and capers or port and plums. Filet of beef is expertly prepared with a Burgundy wine sauce. Lobster is a key item on the menu, and it figures prominently on the must-try list. Speaking of lists, the wine list is excellent. Prices are as varied as the choices, from a $20 Californian to a $300 French. A crème brûlée and a Cognac make a truly grand finale. Also located at 3000 NE 32nd Ave., Fort Lauderdale, 954-561-4800.
