Chef Chu's Restaurant Review:

This popular Los Altos restaurant turns out very good dry-braised seafood and mu shu pork with unusually tasty pancakes, among many other dishes. Mandarin specialties satisfy, but adventurous diners should opt for less common items such as braised basil chicken wings served in a clay pot. For a special dinner, call at least four hours in advance to order the Peking duck; wrapped in tender pancakes slathered with hoisin sauce, it's worth the cost. On weekends, Chef Chu's opens at noon. A large take-out menu is available.
