Chicago Diner Restaurant Review:
At this casual, laid-back vegetarian mainstay, the burgers are grain-burgers and the Reuben sandwich is made with grilled seitan, onions, peppers, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing. The chili is full of beans, peppers and “beefy” seitan. Soups are first-rate, the salads very creative, though you need to be into this sort of thing in order to fully appreciate what’s at hand. Be sure to check out the seasonal menu and many raw food specials. Beer, organic vegan wines and organic vodka cocktails are available. There is a gluten-free menu, too. A second location is at 2333 N. Milwaukee Ave., 773-252-3211.
