An old-timer for the young and hip of Dupont Circle looking for familiar Chinese eats.
City Lights of China Restaurant Review:
This dependable, basement-level Chinese restaurant is always filled with a neighborhood crowd who put up with the brisk, impersonal service because they know they’ll get good, spicy Hunan and Szechuan cooking. The noodle dishes are inexpensive, tasty and filling. Specialties include a good Peking duck, fresh squid country-style and a beautifully steamed whole sea bass on rock salt. We appreciate the pretty and serene setting, the soft lighting and the sophisticated appointments, but mostly we appreciate the consistently good food.
