City Perch Kitchen + Bar Restaurant Review:
City Perch Kitchen + Bar shares second-floor space with a movie theater, giving customers more or less a two-for-one midday or evening treat. Lunches and brunches offer much the same menu, except that brunch patrons can add on waffles, french toast and several egg dishes, plus eye-opening morning cocktails. Lunch selections include appetizers (French onion soup is thick with cheese and bread), salads, main plates and some unusual sandwiches (roasted chicken with Brie and grilled red onions is a winner). Dinner kicks off with mighty potent cocktails, followed by the unexpected fried squash blossoms, braised lamb ragoût and an “everything” waffle that has Norwegian smoked salmon. Mains range from short ribs to bison rib-eye and a whole roasted Long Island duck for two with all the trimmings. Desserts are minimal, but you can’t go wrong with the chocolate terrine. Check out the assorted wines by the glass.
