Compari's on the Park Restaurant Review:
This bright, cheerful restaurant, as its name indicates, is right across the street from the city park, and it's a fixture amidst a village of Victorian architecture. It’s totally informal, with bare-topped tables and a casually dressed waitstaff. The menu errs on the side of being too extensive, running through the lexicon of Italian-American dishes, among them classics like spaghetti alla puttanesca, veal or chicken Marsala, potato gnocchi and sandwich favorites like homemade strombolis and calzones. Pizza is popular for good reason: it may be the best thing to order along with a platter of wafer-thin salami and other Italian meats, plus olives and cheeses. We also favor the house-made fettuccine and linguine, which can be customized with a variety of sauces. Salads are served family-style. Compari's is especially nice when weather permits outdoor seating. Carryout and delivery available.
