THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cooperage: A Wine & Whiskey Bar Restaurant Review:
Just steps from the historic district, this wine and whiskey bar is tucked into the Curtis Center, home to Dream Garden, the must-see Tiffany mural open for viewing by day. Although it began with a Southern accent, the menu has morphed into gastropub comfort fare. Start with one of 40 sipping whiskeys, one of 20 wines by the glass, or a draft craft beer, such as the Liquid Hero Irregardless IPA. Then follow with fried calamari; a "power" spinach salad with bacon, egg, tomato, onion and pecorino cheese; or an Angus beef burger on brioche. For dessert, try the chocolate pot de crème. Lunch offers a good $10 combo deal, or come by for happy hour, with munchies such as pizza fries, a barbecue pork sandwich and mac ‘n’ cheese just $5 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.
