THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Costa Verde Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Tucked into a building adjacent to an auto garage, this seems like an unlikely site for a large, family-sized Peruvian restaurant that serves up gigantic portions and has a staff that patiently deals with toddlers on the run. With its friendly bar and circulars announcing a Latino pop group, Costa Verde gives out vibes that it turns into an after-hours nightclub. But for those who come to eat, eat well they will, with a large and tempting array of dishes at their fingertips. We turned to our favorite appetizer, the papa rellena (mashed potatoes stuffed with a savory ground-meat filling). This succulent bundle is deep-fried for a crunchy potato exterior. The extensive entrée selections include seafood dishes like sautéed octopus and squid to the more traditional steaks and chicken dishes done Peruvian style. We tried the costilla de chancho, or baby short ribs in garlic sauce, but found no bones for gnawing.
