Coyle's Bakeshop Restaurant Review:
From artistic twists on classics (cassis meringue) to baker Rachael Coyle's own concoctions (creztel), this little Greenwood shop brings beauty to baked goods. The crispy cretzel marries the flaky layers of a croissant with the salty twisted shape of a pretzel, which exemplifies Coyle’s creativity and skill with dough. Yet they are simple, elegant and fun --- just like the seafoam green-trimmed décor of this corner café and bakery. The marble-topped, glass-fronted pastry case is consistently stocked with treats, everything from tiny macarons to savory scones and seasonal fruit tarts. True North coffee flows from the espresso machine and the cold-brewer. Small lunch dishes of salads, quiches and vegetable specials provide light meals. High tea is offered on occasional Fridays, with reservations required.
