Crepe Cellar Kitchen & Pub Restaurant Review:
Petite and cozy Crêpe Cellar Kitchen & Pub in Charlotte’s North Davidson (NoDa) arts district features a come-as-you-are clientele as eclectic as its menu. Butcher block tables, open windows and candle light create an appealing ambience. The menu's focus is on crêpes, savory and sweet, and other French favorites, and the restaurant also offers pizzas and sandwiches. Savory crêpes include those with ham and Gruyère, wild mushroom and spinach, and a signature Queen City with roasted chicken, bacon, cheddar, tomatoes and an oven-roasted tomato dressing. On the sweet side, there's the butter sugar basic crêpe, as well as a popular banana and Nutella version. Steak and Guinness pie round out the entrées. In for a glass of wine and quick repast? Order a local favorite, the Pesto Brie fries. Lunchtime menu items include four $8 lunch bites, among them a margherita pizza, Caesar salad or a chicken Cordon Bleu. The varied wine list changes frequently but features good values --- about 10 at any time --- and a more expensive lineup, too. For dessert, opt for the seasonal fruit crêpe with ice cream.
