About the restaurant: One of the oldest coffee and pastry shops in the French Quarter is still one of the best. Oversize windows, vintage tile floors and a charming courtyard add to the appeal of this coffee café. Croissant d’Or feels like the town square of the area, albeit a quiet section, ideal for savoring an eye-opening morning cup of cappuccino or café au lait with a croissant and brioche.
Food & Drinks: There may be a short wait in line at breakfast, however. Return at lunch for a hearty lentil and red bean soup or a light, freshly composed salad. Spotless pastry cases display the pastry staff's artistry. On a mild day, opt for a table on the elegant, private patio.
