Inhabiting a downtown East Greenwich that has seen several restaurants come and go in recent years, Cucina Mista seems like a pretty good bet to become a fixture in a town with an impressive culinary repertoire by small-town Rhode Island standards. Salmon Wellington was unexpected fun, while the kitchen delivered the goods on comfort Italian dishes like fusilli with vodka sauce and chicken rollatini. Big windows provide views in and out on Main Street, and while Cucina Mista’s perspective on Mediterranean cuisine isn’t particularly cutting edge, there’s enough here beyond the usual to warrant a return trip.
