About the restaurant: Situated at the end of a strip mall, across the way from an old movie theater converted into a megachurch, this Huntington Beach eatery is nearly hidden in plain sight. Sharp-eyed diners who catch its wooden façade can snag a seat in the compact industrial-themed interior or sit on the cozy outdoor patio, craft cocktail in hand.

Likes: Weekly rotation of local craft beers.
Dislikes: Very tight space.

Food & Drinks: The kitchen’s Cal-Asian fusion cuisine leans heavily on the latter element --- which isn’t a bad thing --- and there are enough Golden State accents to keep the menu intriguing. Start with an order of truffle furikake-topped fries or a couple of hand-rolled spring rolls stuffed with shrimp and lamb. Skip to the middle course and your party can split bowls of the proper cold noodle salad with japchae and seaweed salad. Mains run the gamut from the slow-roasted pork belly burger to the satisfying chicken curry, while the massive surf and turf offering of two lobster tails and a one-pound boneless rib-eye may require multiple dining participants. Matcha flan highlights the desserts. Craft beer fans will note the venue rotates its local brew selection on a weekly basis.
