Da Umberto Restaurant Review:
This old-world Italian restaurant has been in business for over a decade, but it feels like it's been here at least half a century. Italian is the preferred language at most tables in the bare-bones dining room, and many of the speakers are longtime regulars. Though outsiders may balk at the aura, the gracious host welcomes everyone with open arms. Da Umberto's food is authentic and relatively uncomplicated. All the pastas and feather-light gnocchi with changing sauces are made on the premises, and the veal chop is always expertly prepared with seasonal mushrooms, Marsala and mascarpone that add depth to the dish.
