Dali Courtyard Restaurant Review:
This unpretentious courtyard restaurant---named after a touristy minority village in the southwestern province of Yunnan---offers one of the capital’s most romantic settings. Tables are arranged in open rooms and in the central courtyard, which is inhabited by painted wooden chests, porcelain and rubber plants, and hung with lanterns as dusk falls. The multi-course set menu changes every month, and presents light, spicy Yunnan cooking utilizing plenty of fresh herbs, sticky rice and steamed fish. Sweet Yunnan rice wines and chilled bottles of Dali beer are available.
