THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Dan Marino's Fine Food & Spirits Restaurant Review:
You don’t have to be a football aficionado to dine at Dan Marino’s comfortable family-friendly restaurant, where the focus is on fine food accompanied by fine wines and spirits. Handsome glassed-in wine racks adorn the entrance, and a fireplace enhances the outdoor patio. Among imaginative specialty drinks is the quarterback colada---coconut-flaked Malibu Rum with colada mix and a sidekick of Midori. For starters, the three-cheese spinach dip topped with bacon, sour cream and onions is a favorite, as are the bruschetta and barbecue flatbreads. We also like the grilled cashew-crusted salmon salad over spinach, feta cheese, strawberries and apple-smoked bacon with chipotle-lime vinaigrette. Among house specialties and hand-cut steaks are filet mignon tips sautéed in a Merlot sauce over smashed potatoes. Lobster ravioli in a brandy cream sauce is warm, hearty and satisfying. A favorite of Dan’s, the baked nut-crusted mahi over vanilla rum butter sauce with spinach and garlic mashed potatoes is terrific. Save room for the baked almond brittle in a basket filled with raspberry sorbet and fresh berries. Lively bands provide entertainment in the adjoining Martini Bar.
