Way back when father knew best, this is where he’d take the family. Thank heaven this vestige of America’s black & white past is still standing, because Davies’ stainless steel and bucking bronco namesake is one of a kind. But while it’s now on the National Register of Historic Places, it’s hardly riding on its past. The main attraction is classic diner fare that hits the plates before sunrise and keeps coming way past dark. The breakfasts are big bargains and worth twice the price, egg and meat standards that satisfy. The lunches are just as cost-conscious and filling and cover everything from burgers and patty melts to soups and salads.
