Dee Angelo's Pleasant Ave. Cafe Restaurant Review:
This small, family-run restaurant hosts a steady stream of regulars who return for the warm atmosphere and the Italian food. Dee Angelo's serves generous portions of classics, like paccheri “Sunday gravy,” spaghetti with clam sauce or veal Milanese. The menu changes often to reflect seasonal Long Island produce and freshly caught seafood. The lunchtime menu includes panini on Sullivan Street bread as well as Italian riffs on American brunch staples such as open-face omelets with tomatoes and mozzarella or french toast made with panettone fruitcake. The place also makes a decent pizza. The wine list, naturally, favors Italy with some fairly priced options by the glass.
