Diva Restaurant Review:
This stylish SoHo-Italian opens up onto West Broadway in warm weather. Inside, there's a huge, seemingly-old bar, scarlet walls and a high wood-beamed ceiling---it's definitely a downtown look. The food is simple and pretty good: grilled portobello mushroom with arugula and tomatoes; steamed mussels in white wine and garlic broth; various pastas including black lobster-stuffed ravioli with dill-perfumed vodka sauce; and seared Black Angus filet mignon in a creamy Cognac sauce with mashed potatoes and roasted beefsteak tomato. Expect a good list of Italian wines. Don't let any empty places fool you in the daytime; this place booms late at night, and the kitchen generally stays open until 2 a.m.
