Don Vito’s Restaurant Review:

This secluded enclave is enhanced by floor-to-ceiling curtains, classical Italian architecture, wall murals, rich earth tones and soothing music --- if it weren’t for a few windows looking out to the casino, you’d have little clue of your true whereabouts. Once seated, we recommend starting with the grilled shrimp with cannellini beans, shallots and basil, which is a large enough portion to be your meal. Another solid option are the mushrooms stuffed with sausage, spinach and cheese. Among entrées, winners are the rich lobster ravioli --- black-ink pasta filled with lobster in a saffron cream sauce --- and the rigatoni Vito, a mix of sausage, peppers, onions, pepperoncini and black olives in a marinara sauce. There are also nightly specials to consider, such as a generous 14-ounce rib-eye rubbed with espresso and topped with herb butter. Complementing the fare are nearly 100 wines hailing mainly from California and Italy, including two dozen by-the-glass and 11 half-bottle choices. You won’t leave hungry, as all mains come with soup or salad and bread infused with sun-dried tomato. Dessert options await, too, including cannoli filled with mascarpone, Baileys and Kahlúa or s’mores with graham cracker crumbles, toasted marshmallow, caramel and chocolate ice cream.
