The Downwind Restaurant Review:
As luxury private and corporate airplanes take off and land, diners enjoy the view from The Downwind’s screened-in and outdoor dining spaces. The place is popular with families who bring kids for early dinner and some entertainment --- although Fridays after 7 p.m. the rule is you must be 13 years of age. The restaurant is bedecked with plenty of aviation memorabilia, and among the patrons are a number of now-retired fly guys burnishing their memories. Good fish dishes include wild-caught (not farm-raised) salmon, and specials often feature such local delectables as triggerfish. Burgers are a huge draw, including one that features grass-fed beef raised without hormones and antibiotics. The wine list isn't anything extraordinary; this is, after all, a beer-focused bunch.
