The guys from swank nightspot Lumen are behind this cozy Bucktown joint with food and a scene that lure regulars. But just because the décor is laid-back --- long communal tables, simple stemware --- doesn’t mean the food is commonplace. Take the grilled octopus with orange supremes, radishes and romesco, for example. The crispy Kurobuta pork belly with mustard green kimchi is another topnotch small plate option. Even the beef cheeks feel the culinary love with a spätzle accompaniment. The creativity spills over to the cocktail list, while the reasonably priced wine and beer list makes seating at the tiny bar scarce.
