In the best-kept-secret category, Dvin wins, hands down. Its aura of otherworldliness starts with its reluctance to join the digital age. Inside the tiny storefront, where everything is decorated within a centimeter of its life, a mother-daughter team cooks and takes orders. Simple Armenian-Greek-Russian dishes like borscht --- redolent of tomatoes and cabbage and onions --- feel like comfort food in any language. Ukrainian goulash, stuffed cabbage and tender buckwheat blintzes filled with meat or cheese are other highlights. Desserts include European-style cakes flavored with plum, honey or mango. There’s no liquor license (sorry, vodka fans) and service can be slow. But when food is this lovingly prepared and delivered, it’s worth the wait.
