THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Eastland Cafe Restaurant Review:
Eastland Cafe is a comfortable but well-designed neighborhood spot with highly burnished hardwood floors and warm lighting. Owners Willy and Yvette Thomas, who also operate Park Café on the other side of the river, have graced this bustling corner of the East Nashville neighborhood with an anchor restaurant. For a hearty start, begin with coddled egg with mirepoix, field peas and andouille, or choose a crock of goat cheese brûlée drizzled with honey and balsamic vinegar, and spiked with roasted red peppers for sopping with flatbread. Graduate to a Hereford steak, from beef raised in-state, or fish dishes such as salmon with roasted tomato broth. Do not miss the green chili mac ‘n’ cheese, offered at both of the owners’ restaurants for good reason. For dessert, choose the seasonal fruit options, such as fried apple. The wine list offers plenty of seriously silky selections, not many above $50 a bottle. Happy hour operates Mon.-Fri. from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Sat.-Sun. from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
