Eggslut Restaurant Review:
Former food truck breakfast favorite Eggslut now has a brick-and-mortar location in downtown L.A. at the historic Grand Central Market, which has updated its selection of food vendors. A long counter space serves gourmet egg sandwiches on fresh-baked brioche buns, and the menu highlights the likes of the “Fairfax,” with soft scrambled eggs, chives, cheddar, caramelized onions and sriracha mayo. In addition, look for a coddled egg over potato purée in a glass jar, a signature specialty. Also featured are an egg-topped burger with caramelized onions, which is one of the better burgers found downtown, and an arugula-layered egg salad sandwich that gives brown baggers a whole new perspective on that iconic item. Some people complain about the prices, but this place takes an Egg McMuffin to a whole new level. Also located at 1611 Pacific Ave., Venice, 424-387-8183; and 252 S. Brand Blvd., Ste. D., Glendale, 818-484-5911.
