Though most of the dishes boast serious New Mexican flavor, Posa's tamales are the best-known menu item --- and for good reason. Handmade in town, using an old family recipe, these little bundles of masa are just as they should be: served hot and tender, with a lovely combination of savory and spice. Green chile chicken tamales are local favorites, and herbivores and omnivores alike can enjoy the vegan tamales, packed with zucchini, squash, red peppers, green chile and corn. Order the sweet, spicy house-made horchata, a cinnamon-scented rice drink popular in New Mexico for its tasty zing. Décor and the location won’t wow you, but don’t be deterred: the tamales make up for the lackluster atmosphere. Posa's has two locations, with a second serving the same tamales and burritos, at 1514 Rodeo Rd., near Galisteo Road.
